Pinvin Friends (Friends of Pinvin Federation)

The Federation (Pinvin C of E First & St Nicholas C of E Middle) has an active ‘Pinvin Friends’ which helps to produce those necessary close links between the staff, parents and the community. It also performs a tremendous service in raising money through various fundraising social events. This money is used to purchase equipment and facilities for the benefit of the children, equipment which would not normally be provided by the Education Authority.

The 'Pinvin Friends' have their Annual General Meeting in September. Committee members are elected and parents representing children from all the catchment villages, are encouraged to become members of the 'Pinvin Friends' committee.

It is appreciated that it may not be possible to commit to attending regular meetings but there is a very active ‘helpers’ group who become involved for specific events. If you feel you would like to be involved at either level, please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. - ‘Friends’ meet once every half term, meetings alternate between the day within school time before pickup and evenings. We have a Facebook page called: ‘Pinvin Friends’ – please follow us to keep up to date with our fundraising events.

There are many varied social and fundraising activities which are organised by the Friends each year, including discos and end of year events which all pupils can attend, community events such as Bingo and Quiz nights and stalls such as Freezer Friday.

Pupil and staff voice are incredibly important and wish lists are compiled at the beginning of the new academic year. This helps to draw up a plan to ensure the money being fundraised for has a specific purpose. In the past couple of years there have been many items purchased such as furniture, ovens, a dishwasher, a tumble dryer, resources to support teaching and memorabilia for special occasions. In addition, the ‘Pinvin Friends’ also support the school by lending a helping hand on trips and serving refreshments at school led events etc.

Why not join and influence what opportunities your child has in school? We are always welcome to new fundraising events and ideas.
