Pupil Parliament

We actively promote pupil leadership opportunities, enabling your child to develop valuable communication, organisation and debating skills.  We see our Pupil Parliament as a way of developing the pupil body understanding of democracy.

Our successful Pupil Parliament is a well respected body within the school and consists of pupils from every one of our classes. Children involved in our Pupil Parliament meet regularly to discuss topics, issues and initiatives that affect them and their learning environment. As part of their responsibilities, the team organise their own meetings, decide on an agenda, share new ideas and vote on a number of school-related issues.  Actions from each meeting are shared with the rest of the school through their own display board.

Pupils have recently taken decisions on how to address litter in the outside environment, successfully put forward a pupil initiated fund raising event called Pink Friday, had active input into our new Federation vision and are currently conducting a survey on food waste at lunchtimes.  Pupils relish the opportunity to become a greater part of school life and enjoy making their voices heard.  Our Pupil Parliament is supported by Miss Lisa Gorton.  A parallel Pupil Parliament is run on the same lines at the Middle School.

Green Team

We encourage our pupils to be global citizens.  Part of this is about understanding our role in the world.

Our Green Team are a pupil body that look after the school environment and who raise awareness of our Carbon footprint.  They are a new team that have been created with the support of the Middle School's own Green Team.

Collective Worship around Religious Education group

Rachael Boulter operates with the pupils a cREw group who have the remit of looking at the spiritual, moral and cultural aspects of school life.  Members of cREw visit other schools, participate in Diocesan events and run and provide constructive feedback on Collective Worship.
